Vanilla Gardens in Hawaii

Found on the largest Island of Hawai’i of the Hawaii State, USA, The Nursery in Kona, is an industrial scale tree nursery and vanilla producer. The concept landscape design proposal for the site seeks to redevelop The Nursery into a vibrant tourist hub. The design involves the implementation of a vanilla café within an existing greenhouse, working tours of the planting and growing facilities, ornamental planting displays and a labyrinth, a plant nursey, Filopino style homestead and a tented camp with views towards Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. These interventions aim to increase the overall experience and attractions of the site.   Design phase being conducted in 2013-2014.
