At Earthworks Landscape Architects our approach to design is linked to in depth understanding of social and ecological processes on the site.
We strive to create unique places that respond to the needs and qualities associated with their locations and end users.
The methodology that we undertake is attached to these values and follows from site analysis, conceptual inception and overall layout design simultaneous to detail design development. This process is organic and non-linear, with often a back and forth momentum that allows for increasing knowledge of the issues at hand as well as a refinement of the design expression aligned with the clients’ vision.
Our services include the design of urban parks, nature reserves, hotel landscapes and municipal resorts, urban landscapes ie squares and streetscapes, commercial development landscapes, play parks, sports fields, skate parks, visual impact assessments and environmental planning.
We strive to achieve a balance between human needs and nature through sensitive design on all our projects.
Urban streetscapes and squares provide a stage where urban life is celebrated. Our aim is to create places that encourage people to come together and connect in positive, engaging and stimulating Urban Environments.
These are positive urban spaces that aid in the development of children and relaxation of adults. We create parks that encourage creative development through play and encourages cohesion and inclusiveness of all residents.
Visual Impact Assessments test the effect of proposed developments on the visual integrity of natural or urban landscapes.
The focus here is on the creation of spaces where residents and visitors experience diverse and exciting landscapes inspired by the natural landscape patterns and processes on and surrounding the site.
